JENN MCKINLAY

Jenn McKinlay is the New York Times bestselling author of several mystery series, including, "CUPCAKE BAKERY MYSTERY SERIES", LIBRARY LOVER'S MYSTERY SERIES" and "HAT SHOP MYSTERY SERIES".

She lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, in a house that is overrun with kids, pets and her husband's guitars.

She has baked and frosted cupcakes into the shapes of cats, mice, and outer space aliens, to name just a few. Writing a mystery series based on one of her favourite food groups (dessert) is as enjoyable as licking the beaters, and she can’t wait to whip up the next one.

In my opinion, Jenn McKinlay's writing is entertaining and decent, mysteries are mentally stimulating with satisfactory solutions, settings are delightful and the characters interesting. In fact, the only negative, in both of the otherwise wonderful, "CUPCAKE BAKERY MYSTERY SERIES" and "LIBRARY LOVER'S MYSTERY SERIES", are the irritating 'love-triangles'...which I hope soon get resolved...!

CUPCAKE BAKERY MYSTERY SERIES

This series feature owners, Melanie "Mel" Cooper and Angie DeLaura.

1) Sprinkle with Murder (2010)

Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura are finally living out their dream as the proud owners of the Fairy Tale Cupcakes bakery. But their first big client is a nightmare. She's a bridezilla who wants 500 custom cupcakes for her wedding.

When Mel stumbles upon the bride-to-be dead-by-cupcake, she becomes the prime suspect. The police believe that a secret ingredient in the cupcakes caused her death. To save Mel and their business, the ladies need to find the real murderer -- before the cupcake killer ices someone else...

Lindsey is getting into her groove as the director of the Briar Creek Public Library when a New York editor visits town, creating quite a buzz. Lindsey's friend Beth wants to sell the editor her children's book, but Beth's boyfriend, a famous author, gets in the way. When they go to confront him, he's found murdered-and Beth is the prime suspect. Lindsey has to act fast before they throw the book at the wrong person.
